Fixing a Broken Xbox 360 Video Blog

This is a quick video blog detailing how to fix a seemingly broken Xbox 360. I don’t know how it works, but it does, and it saved my Xbox 360. It may seem like it’s fake, but trust me, this is not a joke. This really works. Check out my thoughts on games and issues surrounding the gaming industry at www.themindofgame.com

If you’ve got a 3-part red ring, then your problem is your power cords (somewhere…the wall, the brick, or the connection from the brick to box itself).

now on the other hand where you have a semi-circle red ring, THEN its over-heating.

  8. i did this to my cousins 360 and it only lasted 1 week

  9. after it break first time can u do it again to fix it second time

  10. THANK U SO MUCH!!!

ps: how do i donate via paypal 2 u?

don’t do this. this is just a temporary solution and actually leaves permanent damage to your xbox 360, so don’t do it.

  12. Why in the world would anyone think this is ok to do to a computer system or console? wrapping your xbox 360 in towels and making it overheat is begging to just have it break even more. would you ever wrap your PC up with towels? well i hope not. best fix out there to date to do yourself is the x-clamp removal and using machine screws to bolt the heatsinks on. you can also use a heatgun to heat up just the GPU heatsink and help seat the chips solder points back together.

  13. yeah it does,
    this is only temporary.

im trying this right now, but do the XBOX go in broke again after this? please answar me ;-)

  15. X clamp mod is a better fix than this, youtube it, x clamp fix is actually LONG TERM, this towel trick only lasts days, sometimes less

  16. IIXRATEDIIHiTMAN Says:

it works as the problem causing it is a bad connection between the board and any one of the components. Putting a towel round the system and making it heat up causes solder to reheat, turning to liquid again and thus forming a new connection though you may find this is only a TEMPORARY fix.

  17. IAMTHEWOLVERINE Says:

this is only a temp fix

  18. Holy shit. It fixed my xbox. Words cannot express my joy.

holy jizz i cant believe that just worked thank you so much!!!!

  21. Reason why this works. Generally when you get the 3 red rings is because its a hardware problem. 9 out of 10 times it’s the GPU, the reason for this is because microsoft can’t use lead in the solder because its considered a kids toy. The lack of lead makes it easier for the solder to break down which causes the GPU to separate from the motherboard. Heating up the xbox with the towels causes the solder to expand and make contact with the motherboard.

  22. this does work but it can last from 2min 2 well forever

  23. WARNiNG!!! DO NOT TRY THiS, iT WiLL OVERHEAT UR BOX. THE ViDPOSTER iS A MOTHERFCKA… N.GGA fck urself!

  24. i’ve been wondering…how long will it last before it fucks up agian? get back to me when u can.
